Pine Wood Derby

We had our exciting pine car race last night. The boys had a great time making their cars. They picked their design and then Willy helped them to cut them out. They spent many hours sanding them and making them just right for painting. Then we took them to Grandma's house for creative painting. With a little of Grandma's help, but not much, the boys came up with the paint designs and painted thier cars.

The race was chaos. They combined three wards and we did not really have a large enough room for the amount of people that showed up. Devan's car won the whole thing, for the fastest car. He was very excited as we had never made a car nor raced one before and did not know what to expect. All the families voted on the cars and each child recieved an award. Devan's scout leaders let him enter Davis' car because Davis was not old enough. So Davis got an award too. He was just excited to see his car go down the track. It was a fun night.
